DRIMCO at 3. VDMA Startup Machine Event

On October 23, 2025, the 3. VDMA Startup-Machine event in Austria took place at the LIT Open Innovation Center at Johannes Kepler University Linz, held under the motto “Startups meet Industry”.

‍We were excited to take part and present ourselves during a classic pitching session alongside eleven other carefully selected tech startups.

The event clearly highlighted the growing role of young technology companies in the industrial value chain. With strong innovation capabilities and an out-of-the-box mindset, startups are becoming increasingly important partners for the machinery and plant engineering sector. This event provided an ideal platform to exchange ideas, explore solutions and spark new collaborations.

Following the pitch session, an exhibition offered space for deeper discussions. We had the opportunity to meet numerous companies and experts from Austria and Germany, explore initial points of contact and discuss potential cooperation opportunities.

A particular highlight was the panel discussion featuring experts from ANDRITZ, Primetals Technologies, TRUMPF and Sysparency. They shared insights into their open-innovation strategies, best practices and real-world experiences working with startups.

Our conclusion:

A powerful event for networking, knowledge exchange and technology inspiration within the German-speaking startup ecosystem. We appreciate the valuable conversations, feedback, and contacts gained throughout the day.
